How to Make a Big Batch of Texas Roadhouse Inspired Whipped Butter that Tastes as Good as You Remember!
Hi! If you’ve been following me for long you’ll already know this, but for those who are new, welcome to Far From The Farm. I’m Mona, the Brit behind the recipes, learning life and food in the States while sharing our debt-free journey and what’s on the menu in our home today!
Some recipes are so simple but so deeply loved that they deserve their own dedicated place on the blog, and this honey cinnamon whipped butter is one of them.
Every time we make rolls at home, someone in my American family brings up Texas Roadhouse and that iconic sweet cinnamon butter they set on the table. It is one of those comfort foods that carries memories, cravings, and a whole lot of cosy.

On one rainy weekend, when I was already working on perfecting a batch of homemade Texas Roadhouse Bread Rolls for an upcoming Thanksgiving event, I realised just how many times we end up making this butter.
It has become one of our family staples, especially now that I bake so often at home to keep our grocery budget low.
Every single recipe we make in our own kitchen is one more win for us on baby step 2 of our debt free journey and one less takeout or restaurant treat we have to splurge on!
And just a reminder that if you’re struggling and you need help with managing your budget or starting your own debt free journey then here’s some FREE resources below you may find helpful!

And because we use this butter constantly for rolls, toast, pancakes, waffles, sweet breads, and even tucked onto warm baked potatoes, I always make it in a big batch.
That is why this version uses an entire 24 oz tub of butter. It saves time, reduces mess, and keeps the fridge stocked with something delicious that feels like a treat without the restaurant bill!
A quick note as well that I always use spreadable salted butter for this recipe. Our family’s favourite is the Land O’Lakes tub with canola oil.
Real block butter hardens in the fridge and becomes too firm for our liking, even with powdered sugar and honey whipped into it.
Spreadable butter stays soft enough to enjoy straight from the fridge which is exactly what we prefer!
Just a little tip from me to you – add the powdered sugar first. Watch the video in the recipe card and you’ll see why. I’ve created enough powdered sugar clouds in this base kitchen to know this is the cleaner way!
As always, these photos are from my real kitchen here in our sweet military base home. No staged lighting or spotless marble counters. Just real life and real food made in a small space. Proof that you can feed your family well without needing a dream kitchen or fancy tools!

Whipped Cinnamon Honey Butter Texas Roadhouse Copycat Recipe!
Equipment
- Stand mixer with paddle attachment
- Mixing bowl
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Spoon
Available on Amazon.com [ad]
Ingredients
For a large 24 oz batch
- 24 oz salted spreadable butter (our family loves the Land O’Lakes butter with canola oil)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (icing sugar if you are in the UK!)
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp honey
Available on Amazon.com [ad]
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1. Add the powdered sugar first
Place the powdered sugar into the bowl of your stand mixer. Starting with the sugar on the bottom prevents that cloud of white dust from covering half the kitchen!
Step 2. Add the butter
Scoop the softened 24 oz tub of butter on top of the powdered sugar.
Step 3. Add the cinnamon and honey
Sprinkle the cinnamon over the top and drizzle in the honey.
Step 4. Mix on low for 30 seconds
Start on the lowest setting to allow the honey and sugar to blend gently into the butter.
Step 5. Increase to high for 2 to 3 minutes
Whip until light, fluffy, and completely smooth. Scrape the bowl halfway through if needed.
Step 6. Taste and adjust
Add a little extra cinnamon or honey based on your family’s preference. Enjoy!
Notes
- Using spreadable salted butter (like Land O’ Lakes with canola oil) keeps this whipped cinnamon honey butter soft, creamy, and ready to spread straight from the fridge. Traditional stick butter firms up quite a bit even once whipped with sugar and honey, so I always use the 24 oz tub when making this large batch.
- If you prefer a slightly lighter texture, you can add one extra tablespoon of honey, but don’t go too heavy or it can loosen the mix too much.
- This batch fills a standard 24 oz butter tub nicely, so you can reuse the original container for storage if you like things tidy in the fridge.
- Powdered sugar blends smoother than granulated and helps create that classic sweet, fluffy “Texas Roadhouse style” finish.
- Cinnamon strength can vary between brands. Start with the two tablespoons listed, taste, and add another half teaspoon if you want stronger warmth.
Troubleshooting
Too firm straight from the fridge?
Spreadable butter is key, but if yours firms up more than you like, just let the tub sit on the counter for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Too soft?
This usually means the butter warmed too much during whipping. Pop the whole container in the fridge for 20 minutes and it will firm back up without losing its texture.
Looks curdled or separated?
This happens if the butter was too cold or too warm when mixing started. Keep blending on medium speed until it smooths out. It always comes together.
Too sweet?
Add a tiny pinch of salt and another half teaspoon of cinnamon to balance the sweetness.
Not sweet enough!?
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons more powdered sugar, blending fully before tasting again.
Grainy texture?
This means the powdered sugar wasn’t fully incorporated. Scrape the bowl and whip for another 30 to 60 seconds on medium speed.
How to Store It
- Store in the fridge up to 10 days in an airtight tub or jar (the one the butter comes in is perfect!)
- Freeze up to 3 months in small containers.
- Let sit at room temperature 10 minutes before serving if you want it extra fluffy.
