Makes: 24 oz tub
Approximate cost $8
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 24 oz tub
Course: Dip, Side Dish
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 24 oz tub of salted spreadable butter - our family loves the Land O'Lakes butter with canola variety
  • 2 cups powdered sugar - icing sugar if you are in the UK
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp honey

Equipment

  • Stand mixer with paddle attachment
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Place the powdered sugar into the bowl of your stand mixer.
Starting with the sugar on the bottom prevents that cloud of white dust from covering half the kitchen!
  2. Scoop the softened 24 oz tub of butter on top of the powdered sugar.
  3. Add the cinnamon and honey.
  4. Mix on low for 30 seconds to allow the honey and sugar to blend gently into the butter.
  5. Then increase the speed to high for 2 to 3 minutes
Whip until light, fluffy, and completely smooth. Scrape the bowl halfway through if needed.
  6. Taste and add a little extra cinnamon or honey based on your family’s preference. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Using spreadable salted butter (like Land O’ Lakes with canola oil) keeps this whipped cinnamon honey butter soft, creamy, and ready to spread straight from the fridge. Traditional stick butter firms up quite a bit even once whipped with sugar and honey, so I always use the 24 oz tub when making this large batch.
  • If you prefer a slightly lighter texture, you can add one extra tablespoon of honey, but don’t go too heavy or it can loosen the mix too much.
  • This batch fills a standard 24 oz butter tub nicely, so you can reuse the original container for storage if you like things tidy in the fridge.
  • Powdered sugar blends smoother than granulated and helps create that classic sweet, fluffy “Texas Roadhouse style” finish.
  • Cinnamon strength can vary between brands. Start with the two tablespoons listed, taste, and add another half teaspoon if you want stronger warmth.

Storage:

  • Store in the fridge up to 10 days in an airtight tub or jar (the one the butter comes in is perfect!)
  • Freeze up to 3 months in small containers.
  • Let sit at room temperature 10 minutes before serving if you want it extra fluffy.
