How to Make This Simple Viral Dubai Chocolate Treat at Home
Hi! If you’ve been following me for long you’ll already know this, but for those who are new, welcome to Far From The Farm. I’m Mona, the Brit behind the recipes, learning life and food in the States while sharing our debt-free journey and what’s on the menu in our home today!
If you’ve been anywhere online recently you’ve probably seen the viral Dubai chocolate trend popping up everywhere. Pistachio. Chocolate. Caramel. That rich, indulgent flavor combination that somehow feels both luxurious and nostalgic all at once.
This version takes everything people love about those viral Dubai chocolate bars and turns it into something much more doable at home. No molds. No tempering chocolate. No specialty ingredients that cost a fortune or sit unused in your pantry afterwards.
These little pretzel bites are one of those dangerously simple treats. Sweet. Salty. Soft in the middle with just enough crunch. The kind of thing that disappears far quicker than you planned!

They are perfect for holiday get togethers, baby showers, Christmas cookie platters, cozy movie nights, or wrapping up as quick edible gifts when you need something last minute but still impressive.
The real star here is the pistachio. We love using honey roasted pistachios because they bring both sweetness and saltiness to the party. They balance the caramel beautifully and give each bite that unmistakable Dubai inspired flavor profile everyone is obsessed with right now.
And then there’s the humble Rolo and mini pretzel twists. Honestly, this combination feels like it should not work but it absolutely does. Think classic turtle candies but with a modern, viral twist.
A quick budget tip while we are here. Buying Rolos and mini pretzel twists in bulk saves a surprising amount of money. One bag usually lasts us the whole festive season and makes multiple batches.
As always, these photos are from my real kitchen here in our sweet military base home. No staged lighting or spotless marble counters. Just real life and real food made in a small space. Proof that you can feed your family well without needing a dream kitchen or fancy tools!

Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
Available on Amazon.com [ad]
Ingredients

Makes 15 bite sized treats
- 15 Rolos, unwrapped
- 15 mini pretzel twists
- 1/2 cup honey roasted pistachios
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
Step 2: Arrange the pretzels
Place the mini pretzel twists on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.

Step 3: Add the Rolos
Unwrap each Rolo and place one directly on top of each pretzel twist.
Step 4: Soften the caramel
Bake for 1 to 2 minutes. You are not trying to melt the Rolos completely. You just want them soft enough to press toppings into. Keep a close eye on them as they can go from perfect to messy very quickly.

Step 5: Add the pistachios
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. While the Rolos are soft, gently press 3 to 4 pistachios into the top of each one. I usually do this a couple at a time so I can control how they sit.

Step 6: Cool and set
Allow the pretzel bites to cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours. This gives the caramel time to firm back up before serving.

Notes and Troubleshooting
Notes
- Chopped pistachios work too if that is what you have
- You can lightly press the pistachios or leave them chunky for more texture
- Dark chocolate Rolos or caramel chocolates also work well
Troubleshooting
- Caramel spreading too much means the Rolos were baked too long
- Pistachios sliding off means the caramel was not soft enough yet
- Too sticky to remove means they need more cooling time
Storage
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 10 days and bring to room temperature before serving.
Serving Ideas
- Add to a Christmas cookie platter
- Serve with coffee or hot chocolate
- Package in small gift bags for holiday treats
- Perfect for baby showers and dessert tables
