Method
- Step 1 – Season the ShrimpDrain the defrosted shrimp and keep them in their bag. Add cajun seasoning and chipotle hot sauce. Seal, give it a good shake, and set aside for 30 minutes. This helps the flavor soak in.
- Step 2 – Preheat the OvenTurn your oven on to 350°F/180°C
- Step 3 – Prepare the Baking SheetLine your baking sheet with foil. Spread 1/2 stick of softened butter across the foil to keep shrimp from sticking.
- Step 4 – Bake the ShrimpSpread the shrimp evenly on the buttered foil. Bake for 15 minutes until just cooked through.
- Step 5 – Start the Alfredo BaseIn your high-sided pan, melt 1 stick of butter with the minced garlic on medium heat. Stir constantly so it doesn’t burn.
- Step 6 – Add the Cream CheeseDrop in your cubed cream cheese and whisk until it starts to look like cottage cheese. Go slow. This step usually takes 5 minutes but it’s worth it for a smooth sauce.
- Step 7 – Pour in the CreamOnce the cream cheese is partially melted, slowly whisk in the heavy cream. Stir until the mixture turns silky.
- Step 8 – Add the CheeseToss in the shredded mozzarella or whatever cheese you’re using. Stir until melted and combined.
- Step 9 – Season to TasteAdd salt and pepper. We go heavy on the pepper, but adjust for your family’s taste.
- Step 10 – Combine and ServeToss the cooked shrimp into the Alfredo sauce or serve them on top of fettuccine. Both ways are delicious.
- Step 11 – StorageThis dish doesn’t freeze well, but it keeps in the fridge for up to 48 hours in an airtight container. When reheating, add a tablespoon of milk and gently warm on the stove to loosen the sauce.

Extra Tips
- This sauce loves fresh pasta. If you’ve never made your own, check out my Homemade Pasta Recipe with KitchenAid Attachments.
- If you prefer a lighter sauce, swap half the heavy cream for half the amount of whole milk.
- To cut heat, skip the chipotle hot sauce and double up on mozzarella for a creamier finish.
