A Bright, Naturally Sweet Cranberry Liquid Honey Recipe that Transforms Drinks, Dressings, and Desserts All Season Long!

Hi! If you’ve been following me for long you’ll already know this, but for those who are new, welcome to Far From The Farm. I’m Mona, the Brit behind the recipes, learning life and food in the States while sharing our debt-free journey and what’s on the menu in our home today!

As the holidays get closer I always find myself returning to those little kitchen traditions that make winter feel cosy without costing much at all.

One of my favourites is making a small batch of cranberry honey simple syrup. I call it my Cranberry Liquid Honey because that is exactly what it tastes like.

Sweet, bright, and just different enough to make even the simplest drink or dessert feel special.

Cranberry is such an underused seasonal flavour and it lifts everything it touches.

Save money and make your own simple cranberry syrup and home in just a few minutes!

A splash of this syrup is beautiful in my Festive Holiday Collins Cocktail, but you can also whisk it into vinaigrettes, add it to marinades, drizzle it onto yogurt or cakes, use it in mocktails, or stir it into warm tea on a cold night.

It is one of those frugal winter staples that stretches across so many recipes for only a few cents per serving.

And of course, anything I can make from home is one less thing I need to buy at the store. Every penny counts while we are on baby step 2 of our debt free journey, and little pantry staples like this help stretch the budget without sacrificing flavour.

Traditional simple syrup is made from white sugar, but I try to avoid refined sugars where I can for gut health and inflammation. Honey gives a deeper, rounder sweetness and it melts into cranberry juice beautifully.

If you’ve ever tried to mix honey into a cold drink, you know how it seizes into little clumps. Turning it into a syrup solves that completely and tastes far better!

All you need is cranberry juice and honey. No fancy tools, no long simmering time, and no complicated steps.

I usually use one cup cranberry juice and one cup honey, but you can scale this up or down depending on what you need, just keep it at a 1:1 ratio and you’ll be fine.

Once warmed together, it turns into a glossy ruby syrup that looks like Christmas in a jar.

This syrup is inexpensive to make, keeps well in the fridge, and gives you so many ways to add festive flavour to your meals and drinks without splurging on specialty mixers. It truly earns its place in a frugal holiday pantry.

As always, these photos are from my real kitchen here in our sweet military base home. No staged lighting or spotless marble counters. Just real life and real food made in a small space. Proof that you can feed your family well without needing a dream kitchen or fancy tools!

So pop into the kitchen with me and let’s rustle up a quick batch of this simple cranberry syrup that you’re going to want to make time and again – and check out the step-by-step quick video I’ve placed down in the recipe card for you!
