How to Make a From Scratch Coffee Creamer That Tastes Like Peanut Butter Cups – with just a few simple ingredients!
Hi! If you’ve been following me for long you’ll already know this, but for those who are new, welcome to Far From The Farm. I’m Mona, the Brit behind the recipes, learning life and food in the States while sharing our debt-free journey and what’s on the menu in our home today!
Chocolate and peanut butter is one of those flavor combinations that never goes out of style. There is a reason it shows up everywhere, from candy bars to desserts to coffee shop drinks. It is rich, comforting, and instantly familiar.
This chocolate peanut butter coffee creamer came about after making our dark chocolate mocha version and realizing just how well it would pair with a spoonful of creamy peanut butter.
My husband is a serious chocolate lover, and adding peanut butter took it straight into peanut butter cup territory. The kind of flavor that feels indulgent from the very first sip!
Store bought chocolate peanut butter creamers promise that flavor but usually come with a long list of ingredients that feel more like a science experiment than breakfast. This homemade version keeps things simple.

Just a handful of real ingredients, gently heated together, and blended into a smooth, rich creamer that tastes exactly how you want it to.
Using smooth peanut butter is key here. We used a creamy honey roasted peanut butter, which adds a subtle sweetness and blends beautifully once warmed. As the mixture heats, the peanut butter melts right in, creating a silky texture and deep flavor that stays present even once it hits hot coffee.
As a military family on baby step 2 of our debt free journey, we are making more things at home wherever we can.
Homemade coffee creamer is one of those small changes that makes a big difference over time. It lets us enjoy flavors we love without constantly buying specialty products, and it makes everyday routines feel a little more special.

Step By Step Instructions
Step one:
Add the heavy cream, milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, sweetened condensed milk, and smooth peanut butter to a small saucepan.

Step two:
Whisk thoroughly before heating to help break up the cocoa powder and peanut butter.

Step three:
Place the saucepan over low to medium heat.
Step four:
Heat gently while whisking often, allowing the peanut butter to melt fully into the mixture.
Step five:
Continue stirring until the creamer is smooth, glossy, and steaming but not boiling.

Once everything is fully combined, remove the saucepan from the heat.
Step seven:
Stir in the vanilla extract while the mixture is still hot.

Pour into a clean glass bottle or jar using a funnel.
Step ten:
Refrigerate until fully cooled. Shake gently before each use.
Why French Press Coffee?
French press coffee, or cafetière style coffee as we more commonly refer to it back home, is far more common in cafés across Europe. It produces a fuller, richer cup that pairs beautifully with homemade creamers like this one.
I still love using our Le Creuset French press each morning. There is something grounding about slowing down just enough to enjoy a proper cup of coffee, especially when it is finished with a homemade cinnamon roll creamer that tastes like a treat.
