Combine the ingredients
- Add the mustard, honey, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, dark chili powder, and chipotle hot sauce to a mixing bowl.
Whisk until smooth
- Whisk everything together until fully combined and smooth. The vinegar smell will be strong at first, but it softens as the sauce rests.
Taste and adjust

Store
- Pour into a squeeze bottle or airtight container, use a funnel if you can as it's a thinner type of BBQ sauce. Refrigerate before using for best flavor.
Notes
- This sauce is intentionally thinner than store bought BBQ sauces
- Shake or stir before each use as natural separation can occur
- Flavor deepens after a few hours in the fridge
Storage
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months
- Not suitable for freezing
