- Measure the ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground allspice and ground cardamom into a medium mixing bowl
- Stir thoroughly until evenly combined and uniform in color. Use the back of your spoon to break apart any compacted pieces of spice.
- Transfer the apple pie spice to a clean, dry airtight container. Store in a cool, dark cupboard for up to 3 months for the best flavor. Shake before using if the spices have settled.

- Substitution: Use 1:1 in place of store-bought apple pie spice.
- For Apple Pie: Use approximately 2 tsp for a classic 9-inch apple pie made with around 4 lb apples.
