Method
- Take 8 to 10 thick slices of sourdough bread. Fresh or frozen both work. Crusts can be left on or removed based on preference.
- In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, pinch of salt and grated parmesan cheese, until fully combined.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
- Place the slices buttered side up on a baking sheet. Transfer to the freezer and freeze for 1 hour, or until solid.
- Transfer the frozen slices into a labeled freezer bag. Store flat in the freezer.
- Remove as many slices as needed straight from the freezer. Add cheese just before cooking if using. Cooking times are:Air Fryer: cook at 360°F for 6 to 7 minutesOven: bake at 350°F for 9 to 11 minutesServe warm.
Notes
- Thick bread works best for proper Texas toast texture.
- Garlic level can be adjusted depending on preference.
- Cheese can be added before cooking if wanted.
- Great way to use up leftover bread.
Storage
- Store in a sealed freezer bag for up to 2 months.
- Remove slices as needed. No need to thaw before cooking.
- Keep flat in the freezer so they don’t break or stick.
